Yas Island for Microsoft Flight Simulator was released FOR FREE alongside one of our latest mega-hub releases, Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport.

The Yas Island pack is a unique for any virtual flight-simmer looking to explore the popular Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the sights it has to offer at an insane level of achieved detail. The showcase photos and trailer speak for themselves👏.

Some of the most adrenaline fuelling and well known areas have been recreated and carefully crafted in the world of flight sim such as Ferrari World (with rollercoasters!), Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros World, SeaWorld, Etihad Arena, Yas Mall and the ultimate spot for any F1 racing fan, the F1'Yas Marina Circuit. But that's not it, several other known buildings and locations have been modelled to bring this special area of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to life.

The team used various tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, Z-Brush and Blender to rig and model Yas Island. They also used Substance 3D Painter, Substance 3D Designer and Adobe Photoshop to assist in creating life-like textures🎨.

A heavy hand of research and data collection has gone into this project including visits to the real locations, blueprint data and 3D LiDAR scanning📡.

The models were placed natively in the simulator using the Dev Tools from the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK, which allowed for level design and package compilation. Many optimization techniques were performed including 4-5 LOD levels to ensure the best performance on both PC and Xbox versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator.
