Luton Airport (EGGW) for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Welcome to London Luton - the next in our series of budget-airline London airports!

The iniBuilds scenery team has dropped the next airport in the London series: (next to Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted) London Luton Airport (EGGW) to the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Bringing many special details and closely architected features to the table including: hand made ground textures exclusive to this airport, highly detailed bespoke object sets specifically for this airport, integrations with other third party add-ons for MSFS such as GSX, the up-to-date airport layout and much more.

In the course of project development, our team utilized 3ds Max, Maya, and Blender for final rigging and 3D modeling. Substance 3D Painter, Substance 3D Designer, and Adobe Photoshop were the primary tools employed for texture and material/texture creation. As you may notice in the showcase, it's evident that advanced techniques and optimized texture resolutions were implemented to ensure the creation of visually stunning models while meeting performance targets.

All models have been seamlessly integrated into the simulator utilizing the available in-game level design and package compilation tools provided by the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK. Additionally, each model has undergone specific optimizations, with careful decimation for 4-5 LOD levels, ensuring optimal performance across both PC and Xbox editions of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The iniBuilds team have developed a series of scripts and applications to make the development process more common, fluid and simple in various aspects of scenery development.
